Jenkin-Guerin, Inc. was founded in 1920 by Fort Benjamin Guerin and William Jenkin. Initially, their company provided industry with simple lubricating oils typical for that era. They soon added cup oils, greases and automotive oils to their line. Most of their products were manufactured in house.

Jenkin-Guerin was originally located on the St. Louis Riverfront on Merchant Street. When plans were developed for the Arch in the late 1940's, Jenkin-Guerin had to sell their property. They moved to their present location at 4480 Hunt Avenue. Jenkin had passed away in the late 1930's and the company was being run by Guerin. He continued to run the business until 1951, shortly after the move, when he sold it to William Kohl.     arch.gif (1587 bytes)

Kohl expanded the product line and sales territory greatly during the years he owned the company .
In 1971 he sold it to two of his employees; Jack Krause and Gene Rankin.

Krause started with the company in 1961 as a salesman and worked his way up to Executive Vice President by the time he and Rankin purchased the company. Krause and  Rankin have expanded the product line and manufacturing processes and entered the international market where the focus is primarily on the Gear and Tab Die Lubes.

Krause bought out Rankin in 2005 and is now sole owner of the company.

Jenkin-Guerin, Inc. continues to expand their product line in the areas of Synthetic and Specialty Lubricants and Lube Application Equipment designed for the container Industry.
